TRAVERSE VS HYUNDAI PALISADE

Why Buy Traverse Over the 2021 Palisade?

The 2021 Chevy Traverse and 2021 Hyundai Palisade are both stylish SUV's with a lot to offer for each of their price points. From a comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance options, to additional hidden storage, to available AWD, to comfort and technology; there are a ton of similarities between the two vehicles. However; we believe here at Jim Keras that the Chevy Traverse beats out the Palisade because it offers a better value, and we believe that you'll agree with us, too.

Safety

The 2021 Hyundai Palisade offers some rally good safety features as standard on its models, earning a 9.8 out of 10 for usnews.com's car reviews. The 2021 Traverse, however, offers many of the same safety features as the Palisade, including electronic stability control, pedestrian and vehicle brake assist, lane departure warnings, and automatic high beams for increased visibility. Other available safety features include rear cross traffic alerts, lane change alert for when another vehicle in your blind spot starts entering your lane, and available rear camera mirror, for when a wider and less obstructed view behind the vehicle while you are driving.

Comfort and Technology

We at Jim Keras believe that for driving in Shelby county, the 2021 Traverse offers one of the best rides you can have for navigating Poplar's potholes. With it's widest in class wheel base, the Traverse offers a seriously smooth ride. The Palisade does offer very good looking interiors with a strong list of infotainment features, such as CarPlay and Android Auto, but the Traverse offers all the same features except the semi-autonomous driving mode only available on the Palisade SEL's Premium package. We think that when you're looking for a smoother ride, and exceptional technology, the Traverse has a lot to offer.

Powertrain and Fuel Economy

The Palisade comes standard with a 3.8L V-6 engine and an automatic 8 speed transmission. Boasting 291 horses for towing up to 5,000 pounds, it offers an objectively worse experience than the Traverse. The Traverse comes with a slightly smaller 36L V-6 engine, but can tow the same amount, offers an additional 19 horsepower compared to the Palisade, and it offers the exact same gas mileage with 19 mpg city/ 24 mpg hwy. All-in, the Chevy traverse offers a much better offer than the Hyundai Palisade when it comes to the powertrain.
