When You Compare the Values, It's no Comparison.

The 2021 Chevy Traverse and 2021 Hyundai Palisade are both stylish SUV's with a lot to offer for each of their price points. From a comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance options, to additional hidden storage, to available AWD, to comfort and technology; there are a ton of similarities between the two vehicles. However; we believe here at Jim Keras that the Chevy Traverse beats out the Telluride because it offers a better value, and we believe that you'll agree with us, too.

The Kia Telluride offers a lot of passenger space and headroom for its class, but the Chevy Traverse offers much more in the way of cargo space (even without the available hidden compartments) and in passenger comfort as a result of its largest in class wheelbase.

The 2021 Kia Telluride offers a lot in the way of safety features, including automatic emergency braking for pedestrians and blindspot detection, but it doesn't offer more than the 2021 Chevy Traverse, which comes with the same standard safety featrures as the Telluride, while also offering features like Intellibeam automatic high beams.

Comfort and Technology

We at Jim Keras believe that for driving in Shelby county, the 2021 Traverse offers one of the best rides you can have for navigating Poplar's potholes. With it's widest in class wheel base, the Traverse offers a seriously smooth ride. The Kia Telluride has gotten lots of praise over the last couple of years for the major improvements to the vehicle as it relates to offroad capabilities and interior options on higher end models, but for the best bang for your buck features -- like CarPlay, Android Auto, and noise canceling speaker system -- the Traverse has the Telluride beat.

Powertrain and Fuel Economy

The 2021 Kia Telluride comes standard with a 3.8 V6 engine and a continuously variable transmission. It can tow up to 5,000 lbs, and, despite the normally more efficient variable transmission, offers the same gas mileage and towing capacity as the 3.6 cylinder V6 that comes standard in the Chevy Equinox.  All-in, the Chevy traverse offers a much better offer than the Kia when it comes to the powertrain.

Kia offers a lot to offer with its warranty, with a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, and a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty for damage to the body of the vehicle. Chevrolet offers a free service warranty, a 5 year/ 60,000 mile Powertrain Warranty, and a 3 year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty: the most comprehensive in its class.
